Building a Pool in the Hub City

What the City of Spartanburg Asks For

If your home is inside Spartanburg city limits, the City's swimming pool permit application must be submitted with:

• A plot or site plan showing where the pool sits, with its length, width and depth
• The location, type and height of the fencing, plus gate or door details
• Where the pool equipment (pumps and filtration) will go
• A Pool Fence Affidavit signed by the property owner, dated and witnessed
• A separate electrical permit application

We prepare the drawings and the rest of the paperwork. The fence affidavit is the one piece that has to come from you as the owner, and we'll walk you through it.

Outside City Limits: Spartanburg County

Homes in unincorporated Spartanburg County are permitted by the county instead. The county's posted pool barrier requirements call for a barrier at least 48 inches high around the pool.

Those requirements make an exception for pools with a powered safety cover that meets ASTM F1346. Since our crew installs pool fences, the barrier and its gates are scheduled with the rest of the build instead of being handed to another contractor.

Choosing a Pool Type for Your Spartanburg Yard

We build all three main pool types. The right one depends on the shape you want, your timeline and your budget.

• Gunite: full design freedom, including raised walls, spillways, integrated spas and Pebble Tec interiors. Plan on roughly 8–14 weeks of construction.
• Fiberglass: a factory-molded Imagine Pools shell (we're an authorized installer) with a smooth gel coat that resists algae, and the shortest build of the three.
• Vinyl liner: a custom footprint at the most affordable entry point, typically built in 4–8 weeks, with options like LED lighting and saltwater systems.
