One City, Two Counties
Greer straddles the line between Greenville County and Spartanburg County, so homes that share a Greer address can answer to different permit offices. Before we design anything, Fireside Pools & Spas checks where your property falls: inside Greer city limits, in unincorporated Greenville County, or in unincorporated Spartanburg County.
We're a family-owned pool builder based in Easley. Our crews build gunite, fiberglass and vinyl liner pools, install pool fences, and take care of permits, HOA approvals and engineering.
Who Issues Your Pool Permit
- Inside Greer city limits: the City of Greer requires a permit for swimming pools and makes obtaining it the contractor's responsibility. Before issuing one, the city may weigh factors such as floodplain location, road frontage and other structures already on the lot.
- Unincorporated Greenville County: the county requires a permit for swimming pools, and when a contractor does the work, the contractor submits the application. Residential pools there are inspected three times: the grounding and pool bond, then the electrical final and the building final.
- Unincorporated Spartanburg County: the county's posted pool barrier rules set a minimum barrier height of 48 inches.
Floodplain and lot layout can affect a city permit, so we look at both before your 3D design is final.
Pool Options for Greer Homeowners
Gunite gives you a permanent, fully custom pool: infinity edges, beach entries, sun shelves, raised walls and Pebble Tec finishes. Fiberglass is the low-maintenance route, using one-piece shells from Imagine Pools, which we're authorized to install. Vinyl liner pools offer a custom shape at the lowest entry cost, with add-ons such as waterfalls, tanning ledges and automation.
The honest trade-offs are laid out in our gunite vs. fiberglass vs. vinyl post. For features and finish choices, see our pools page and pool selections.

Fences, Spas and Outdoor Kitchens
Barrier rules differ across Greer's jurisdictions, which is one reason we install pool fences ourselves. The fence is drawn into the same design and built to the rules for your address.
As an authorized Garden Leisure dealer, we sell hot tubs and swim spas and look after delivery, placement and electrical. We're also an authorized Bull dealer and design and install Bull outdoor kitchens, alongside the patios, pergolas and fire features on our outdoor living page. You can browse spas on our hot tubs page.
Common Questions from Greer Homeowners
My Greer address is in Spartanburg County. Do you build there?
Yes. We build for Greer homeowners on both the Greenville County and Spartanburg County sides, and we confirm the right permit office for your property before the design is final.
Who is responsible for pulling the permit in Greer?
Inside city limits, the City of Greer puts that responsibility on the contractor, so we take care of it as part of your project.
Can a floodplain affect my pool plans?
It can. The City of Greer says it may consider floodplain location, road frontage and existing structures before it issues a permit, so we review those early.
Is a gunite pool worth the longer build?
If you want a shape or feature that no factory mold offers, usually yes. Gunite typically takes 8–14 weeks to build, longer than fiberglass, but it gives you complete design freedom and a permanent structure.
Is weekly maintenance part of your service?
No. We build pools, spas and outdoor living spaces rather than offering weekly service. Our pool owner guide explains routine care and points you to our preferred cleaning company.
Other areas we serve: Greenville, Spartanburg, Simpsonville, Powdersville.
